“The Congressio…

February 6, 2014

“The Congressional Budget Office estimated on Tuesday that the Affordable Care Act will reduce the number of full-time workers by 2.5 million over the next decade. That is mostly a good thing, a liberating result of the law.” – The New York Times

The New York Times Editorial Board started their Opinion Page about Obamacare’s CBO Report off strong with this propaganda. Does anyone really believe that 2.5 Million Americans (lowball) leaving their jobs is in the best interest of them or the country? While the relentless defenders of this unconstitutional act will say that the CBO report does not say ACA “kills” jobs, CBO Director Doug Elmendorf (who wrote that report) was quoted as saying “The act creates a disincentive for people to work,” while being questioned by Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, the House Budget Committee Chairman.

Fittingly, in 1993 while working under then Director Robert D. Reischauer, analyst Elmendorf worked on a team that concluded President Clinton’s health reform package would cost much more than originally thought. This analysis helped cripple Clinton’s attempt to reform health care. Elmendorf left the public sector when George W. Bush took office to join Brookings Institute, and then became the director of their Hamilton Project in 2008, when then director Jason Furman left to join the Obama Campaign.
